The new pope just turned 78 years old. I guess the cardinals liked the conclave so much that they decided they wanted to have another one in the not-too-distant future.

Now that Adobe is swallowing Macromedia, I'm relieved I stayed with Illustrator and ImageReady for vector and web images. I don't think Freehand and Fireworks will survive the merger (at least not intact). I also expect GoLive and Livemotion will be giving way to Dreamweaver and Flash, but no one wil miss them.

I'm finally employed full time. My new employer is in Palo Alto, which means a 40-mile commute to and from work. Since we only had one car, we had to look into getting a second vehicle.

It seems that fewer individuals are interested in being all they can be these days. Now the draft looms if the military keeps missing its recruitment goals. Think those apathetic young voters who skipped the last election are feeling nervous yet? I'm glad I don't have to worry, I'm too old to be drafted now.
