The number two guy at FBI during the Nixon years has come forward as "Deep Throat", the source of Woodward and Bernstein's Watergate expose that helped bring down Tricky Dick. Neither of the reporters has confirmed Felt's story. They maintain that they still plan to reveal Deep Throat's identity only after his death. I guess only time will tell for sure.

Now there's something else to worry about besides 4-hour erections. Looks like Ditka choose the right horse after all to "improve his game".

You'd think that they could have at least repaired a real pothole. How is it good to spend money to MAKE a hole just so Ahnold can fill it? Their excuse that they wanted to limit the impact on neighbors doesn't fly. Any time the gubinator goes anywhere it causes a disruption. That's just the nature of things.

It seems that GOP House members want it both ways. They voted to pass a bill that Dubya is sure to veto. That way they can say that they supported stem cell research financing. They also voted for a more restrictive bill that would have a negligible impact on new stem cell research because the conditions make it impossible to develop new stem cell lines. Just brilliant.

I have no sympathy for this guy. He drove off a cliff with the intention of killing his family and himself. His intent to kill constitutes premeditation. Premeditation equals murder. If he wanted to kill himself, he should have just done so. Why did he have to kill his family too?

South Korean scientists just announced a major breakthrough in stem cell research, and all Dubya can do is condemn it. I guess leading the scientific curve is no longer the priority it used to be.

In a city of millions, not even a half-million bothered to even vote for mayor. Perhaps the new mayor will do a good job, but if he doesn't, Angelinos will have no one to blame but their own apathetic selves.

Once again a Newsweek story has led to tragic circumstances. A small item about the alledged desecration of the Koran by interrogators at GITMO has sparked riots and mayhem in Afgahnistan and elswhere. I'm sure that they didn't take even a second to consider the possible consequences of printing this item.

It's bad enough that these guys beat someone so badly that they broke his jaw, but they also video taped the beating AND put the video online. So they've basically made the prosecutor's case a slam dunk. I'll bet even the late Johnny C. couldn't get them off.
