It Wasn’t Cancelled?

Fox begins airing new episodes of "Prison Break" tonight. I don't plan to watch since I forgot the show even existed. I guess I'll never know if they get out of prison or not. I don't understand why the networks insist on taking shows off the air at mid-season only to bring them back later.

Speaking of seasons. Is there really a season in TV anymore? It seems that the networks never run new shows for more than a couple of weeks before they rerun episodes from previous seasons. Fox seems to do this more than any of the other networks. Their reality shows seem to be the only programs that are free of season long interruptions.

Maybe that's why they can't build any momentum in the ratings. They hook people on a show, then they take the show off the air in order to show the 100th version of American Idol. So if you don't care about some contrived pop singer, you switch to a show from the competition and decide to stick with the competition even after the Fox show came back.

As far as we're concerned, there hasn't been anything worth watching on Monday nights since they put Prison Break on hiatus. We've stopped watching TV on Mondays in favor of doing something more fulfilling. We'll probably stick with our new routine. That's what routines are all about after all. If something disrupts your old routine, you come up with new ones and stick with them.
