This is just ridiculous. How can a minor offense committed over 20 years ago still be relevant? I can understand restrictions regarding felony convictions but misdemeanor possession in 1975? Maybe those folks should just spend that $500.00 a night in an American ski resort instead. I guess Canadian businesses are doing well enough that they can afford the loss of revenue from such "hardened" American criminals.

Former Warrior point guard, Tim Hardaway recently stated that he "Hates gay people" in response to another former NBA player who recently came out. It was a rare candid statement that reflects the attitudes of many male athletes, and it may cost him plenty in the short term.

There were sighs of relief as Carrie Underwood was awarded the New Artist Grammy from the fans of the other artists nominated in this category. This award has often condemned the winner to obscurity before their second album could even be released (see Men at Work, Terrence Trent D'arby, Milli Vanilla, et al). It's possible that Underwood will overcome the jinx since she's a country star and they tend to maintain a loyal following unless you're the Dixie Chicks.

The Texas governor went against his religious base and issued an executive order that requires vaccinations for girls against HPV, the virus that causes cervical cancer. On the surface this seems to be an astounding demonstration of common sense from such a staunch conservative, but the big money lobbying reveals the truth. If Merck hadn't poured so much money into the right coffers, this would never have happened.

After news came out about the Simpering Simian's efforts to prevent federal scientists from revealing evidence of global warming, some local newscasts aired "man on the street" interviews about the topic. Some people were disturbed while others were as doubtful about global warming as the man in the White House.
