I was going down the escalator at the Mac Arthur BART station on my way home yesterday when a woman started screaming "Stop him! He took my iPod!". I looked up and saw young man quickly running down. I attempted to reach out with my umbrella and trip him, but he was too nimble and got away.

I'm a courteous and polite person. Because of this, I have a hard time just cutting off a telemarketer or hanging up on them when they call at (usually) inconvenient times. But many of them seem to make it impossible to be courteous and polite.

It's amazing how quickly a month can get away from you when you go on vacation. First you have to get as much done as possible before you leave. Then it takes a while to catch up on work once you get back. That is why there have been a dearth of posts to this space lately.

So July started out normally enough. There were fireworks on the Fourth. My birthday soon after. And then, BAM! I'm a dad!!! And before I could even absorb the impact of a newborn baby, I get a new job. Whew!!! I hope August is a little more sedate.

I had a long weekend for the Fourth and got to see a couple more summer blockbusters, "Cars" and "Superman Returns". Throw in "The Da Vinci Code" and "X-men: The Last Stand", and I've seen just about all the blockbusters I wanted to see this summer. Here are my thoughts about each film.

I have a Hybrid that qualifies for the "Clean Air" sticker. This means I can use the diamond lane without passengers. Several times a week I encounter people driving in the diamond lane without passengers and they're not driving Hybrids. In fact they're usually driving SUV's or minivans. Such was the case yesterday.
