Yes!!! The chop is dead in Atlanta for another year! The Astros beat the Braves in the longest post-season game in baseball history. Now if the Angels can do away with the Yankess tonight, all will be well.

The axe has fallen on three people at KNBR thanks to the lame statement made by one of their hosts last week. Blame is being laid out left and right against the station, the Giants and even Philipe Alou. Personally, I blame the station.

Take a look at this picture. Nevermind what the caption says. Let's just make one up. Something like: "Derek Jeter and Gary Sheffield are out and proud for Pride Weekend." Next?

The number two guy at FBI during the Nixon years has come forward as "Deep Throat", the source of Woodward and Bernstein's Watergate expose that helped bring down Tricky Dick. Neither of the reporters has confirmed Felt's story. They maintain that they still plan to reveal Deep Throat's identity only after his death. I guess only time will tell for sure.

The NHL has made it official. There will be no major league hockey this season. Well, duh! The playoffs were only a month or so away, how did they expect to get a meaningful season in at this point anyway? Now they might as well cancel the sport too, because there doesn't seem to be much interest anyway.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot! There's this sport called "Hockey", and the local team is the San Jose Sharks. The players have been locked-out for three months. The season may not happen. But most of the Bay Area doesn't seem to care. Is it because there's too much going on here? Or could it be that hockey just isn't that interesting to begin with?

The self-loathing Senator from Arizona wants to extract the juice out of Major League Baseball. But before Congress can do anything to the MLB, they'll have to get rid of that antitrust exemption. Others have tried and failed. Expect more of the same.
