2003 Regional Science Bowl T-Shirt
Our client once again asked me to design a t-shirt for the 2003 Regional Science Bowl. The event brings together teams from high schools throughout the region together to compete against each other and determine which team will represent the region during the finals in Washington D.C. All the students, coaches and volunteers were given a shirt to commemorate their participation in the event. The primary graphic appeared on the back and a smaller graphic was applied on the front left breast.

Design of the T-Shirt
The design for this shirt plays off the theme "Science to the Core" and the fact that 2003 is a prime number. 2003 is at the center of a sphere core that has other prime numbers and nuclei gravitating toward it.
Since I was given the option of three colors plus the blue of the shirt fabric, I chose a triad of dark blue, orange and violet to achieve good contrast with the shirt fabric. The light blue of the shirt is also incorporated into the design as part of the nuclei elements.
The event information and the sponsor logos were strategically placed under the primary graphic.
