• LetsTalk.com Re-Design

The main goal of the LetsTalk.com re-design was to freshen up the look and feel of the site. The final product took the site in an enitrely new direction with greater interactivity and the incorporation of AJAX functionality to help shoppers find the cell phone they're looking for

  • Design of LetsTalk.com

My role in the re-design was mostly technical design, though I did participate in design reviews and provided feedback and direction to my colleague who was tasked with refining the look and feel of the site. One of my contributions to the re-design included the AJAX search tool that is activated when a user starts typing in the search box. I also designed and built the prototype for the rotating promotional images.

  • Development of the Intranet Site

The LetsTalk.com design had not changed significantly since it was first launched in 1999. So implementing the re-design meant starting from scratch. Only some of the sections of the site were going to be rebuilt, other legacy sections would have to be retrofitted into the new design. To accomplish this, we had to build templates that were XHTML 1.0 Transitional in order to accommodate some of the legacy code. CSS 2.1 is used for layout and styling.

The home page takes advantage of CSS Sprites to apply many of the graphical elements including a variation of the Image Replacement technique to alternate the rating stars on the white or gray background.

Some other tricky CSS is used to layout the best sellers list and the best seller detail overlay.
